Connecting an automatic pilot

You can connect the automatic pilot to one of the ports.

You can also connect the automatic pilot to a port used as input in NMEAÊ183 format (generally the GPS).

Note: most of the electronic equipment must only be connected to RxD leads (input) computer connectors. The automatic pilot is connected to the TxD leads (output). This explains why it is possible to connect to the same port both electronic equipment which sends data (in NMEA 183 format) and the automatic pilot which receives data from the computer (see paragraph Cable diagram).

Select the port by clicking the corresponding box. Then call up the pop-up menu and choose the format used by the automatic pilot. The following dialog box is then displayed which specifies the different necessary parameters.

Choose the NMEA chain to be used ($--APA... work in magnetic heading, $--APB... work in geographic heading).

Then click OK to confirm.

Caution! If you have connected the automatic pilot on a port used in input by NMEA 183 format equipment (generally the GPS), you should now select the input data, as explained above in the paragraph Connecting electronic equipment.
